Sen. Holscher gets ratioed in X comments after claiming Kansans want government to infringe on self-defense rights
After introducing four anti-Second Amendment bills into the Kansas Senate–one of which would end constitutional carry in Kansas–Sen. Cindy Holscher, a Democrat representing part of Overland Park took to X (formerly known as Twitter), claiming she’s heard many Kansans say they want the government to grow bigger so that their right to self-defense can be infringed upon.
I hear you Kansans!

Will the committee chairs and legislative leaders who schedule bills to be worked hear you???#ksleg #EnoughIsEnough pic.twitter.com/27Xt6cxysB
While over 130 people seemed to support her claim with a like, as of this writing, of the 14 shown comments, only one supported the Senator’s anti-Second Amendment sentiment:
I have very little faith that anything will get done. Our Congress is not opposed to school or mass shootings. I fear that our legislature will also fall into that category and I hate that for our state.

All the other comments pushed back against this sentiment:
Oh let me guess, yet another gun law that will do nothing but curtail the 2nd amendment rights of law abiding citizens? 🙄

I've read the bills. Seems they are unserious and were written by a 12 year old. Nice political stunt.

You are mistaken. Kansans capable of critical thinking want freedom. They don't want dangerous regulations that make self-defense impossible or more difficult.

Though the Kansas Democrat Party seems more interested in growing the government than protecting Kansans, the fact that such claims made by Sen. Holscher were ratioed in the comment section of X, seems to suggest most Kansans are not quite yet on board with such an idea.Â
