Trans activists vandalize Rep. Proctor's business, again

LEAVENWORTH – The Baan Thai Restaurant in Leavenworth was targeted back in April of this year by a trans activist who spray painted the words, “TRANS UNFRIENDLY DO NOT SHOP” on the side of the restaurant. Baan Thai is owned by Rep. Pat Proctor (R-Leavenworth) who has been dealing with a controversy in the town after he and local school board member Vanessa Reid exposed “transgender indoctrination” at David Brewer Elementary School in Leavenworth.

The controversy began after Rep. Proctor took a tour of the elementary school where he was accompanied by Reid. In the library, Rep. Proctor had taken a photo of student artwork for an assignment called, “Our Library is for Everyone.” The artwork included images associated with the LGBTQ+ community. Parent Courtney Ricard initiated an effort to recall Reid from the school board after Rep. Proctor shared the picture, which featured her daughter’s artwork in his online newsletter.

Ricard had until Monday, July 24 to submit the 1,200 required signatures needed to force a recall election of Reid’s school board position. However, according to County Clerk Janet Klasinski, no signatures were turned in by the deadline.

We reached out to Reid for a statement, however, she never responded.

We also reached out via email to Rep. Proctor who had this to say about the failure to initiate a recall election:

“Conservatives in Leavenworth have been saying for years—despite Democrat denials—that the woke agenda has infiltrated our school district. And when conservative school board member Vanessa Reid and I provided hard, photographic evidence, a small cabal of leftists tried to cancel us both.

“Our community rejects the sexualization and indoctrination of our children. That is why they roundly rejected this effort to oust Vanessa. I just pray that the mainstream media will cover Leavenworth’s repudiation of radical gender ideology with half as much enthusiasm as they covered the effort to silence us.”

Rep. Proctor also said it was a huge victory for Kansas parents and kids. He also took to Twitter on the issue, challenging the Leavenworth Times Newspaper to give the failed effort the “same front page, above-the-fold treatment” that they gave the three people who started the recall effort.

The paper did do a writeup of the story, which Rep. Proctor shared on his Instagram.

He captioned his Instagram post with the following statement:

“The effort to recall Leavenworth School Board member Vanessa Reid failed earlier this week. The group circulating the petition had until 5pm Monday to turn in about 1,200 required signatures to trigger a recall election. They failed to turn in ANY signatures before the deadline.

“This is clear evidence that, despite their howls of “transphobe” and attempts to intimidate, silence, and cancel their opponents, this tiny handful of leftists is out of step with the vast majority of people in our community who agree that radical, woke, gender ideology has no place in our schools, especially our elementary schools.”

Then, at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, Baan Thai Restaurant took to their Facebook page to inform their followers that they had been vandalized again by “three militant trans activists” who defaced the sidewalk outside their restaurant with “hateful comments.”

Along with the Facebook posts were more than a dozen pictures of the sidewalk and the messages that were written in chalk.

The sidewalk featured characters from the 2018 video game, ‘Among Us,’ with many different messages including:

  • “Good ol’ Sussy Patt”

  • “Sussy —> Political Imposter”

  • “There Is A LIAR Among Us”

  • “How About Helping Your Crewmates?”

  • “TRANS RIGHTS”

  • “AN AMERICA-HATING INSURRECTIONIST OWNS THIS PLACE”

  • “Cryin’ Col Pat Proctor owns Bahn Thai” (Baan was misspelled)

  • “Hey kid, let me check your genitals”

  • “The Genocide Convention of 1948 Defines these acts as attempts

    • Killing the group

    • Deliberate life quality degradation in hopes they will kill themselves

    • Preventing births

    • Relocating the children of the group to non-members”

The sidewalk also said that the two acts circled (in bold) were parts of bills that Rep. Proctor “championed for and voted on.”

Rep. Proctor also shared the news on his political Facebook page where he provided even more information, including that an eyewitness “caught trans Satanist Tristan “Rachel” Stout and two other trans militants in the act.”

While the vandalism was in chalk this time rather than paint, it took up a wider area. Whereas the previous vandalism took place on a portion of the wall, this new vandalism covers the entire frontage of Baan Thai Restaurant, on both sides of the vehicle entrance.

According to Rep. Proctor in an email to The Kansas Constitutional, these attacks were “in response to the recent failure of these trans activists to turn in ANY signatures before the deadline to recall School Board member Vanessa Reid.”

Rep. Proctor added, “When conservatives accuse the radicals who have infiltrated our schools of spreading their woke, gender ideology, they say, “Prove it!” When we provide proof, they try to cancel us like they did with this recall effort against Vanessa Reid.”
