Tweet regarding new women's basketball team brings pushback to Gov. Kelly after veto of 'Fairness in Women's Sports Act'
Kansas Governor Laura Kelly tweeted about the KC Crossover, a new professional women’s basketball team, coming to Kansas City on Saturday, May 20.
Yet another reason it's an exciting time to be a sports fan in Kansas City. I look forward to watching the KC Crossover. Best of luck in your first season!https://t.co/cmKOPgf02k

The tweet led to pushback from Kansans due to her veto of the ‘Fairness in Women’s Sports Act,’ a bill that would keep biological males from playing on women’s sports teams. The Democrat Governor’s veto was overridden by the Kansas Legislature.
Really now. You want to authorize biological men to play on the women’s teams. Guess you will say anything as a politician.

Don't think anyone will forget your commitment to get men into womens sports.

Excited to make their presence felt in Kansas City, the KC Crossover is preparing for its inaugural season in the Global Women’s Basketball Association, a four-team league founded in 2016.
